Meet Lucia
Ciao! I’m Lucia, your energetic guide to mastering the Italian language. Born and raised in the vibrant city of Turin, in the heart of the Piedmont region, I’m passionate about sharing the beauty of the Italian language and culture in a fun and engaging way. My teaching style is all about creating an enjoyable experience while helping you gain confidence in your language skills.

Qualifications and Experience
I hold a Master’s Degree (M.A.) in German/English-Italian Translation from the prestigious University of Turin, where I graduated with top honours, achieving the highest score of 110/110. In addition to my degree, I earned the DITALS 2nd Grade certification from the University for Foreigners of Siena, a highly respected qualification that demonstrates my expertise in teaching Italian to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced learners.

In 2012, I also became a certified CELI Examiner through the University for Foreigners of Perugia, further expanding my qualifications to assess and evaluate Italian language proficiency. Since 2008, I’ve been teaching across various countries, including Italy, Germany, the UK, and Australia, gaining invaluable experience along the way. In 2018, I founded Ciao Bella® Italian Language School here in Brisbane.

With a global teaching career spanning over a decade, I’ve taught students of all ages, from children to seniors, and at every proficiency level, from A1 to C2. My approach to teaching has always been centred on energy, excitement, and using the most up-to-date methods to ensure each lesson is both fun and effective.

Beyond the classroom, Ciao Bella® is a vibrant community that brings Italian culture to life. Throughout the year, I organise exciting events such as Italian film festivals, hands-on cooking classes, and social dinners, so you can experience Italy beyond the textbooks.
